Welcome to Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s 109th National Conference.
Magnificent Milestones is our conference theme, and rightly so. 2015 is the 50th anniversary of our National Area Planning Committee, 25 years since our name change to Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and 25 years for our Alumni Hall of Fame.
We’re excited about the conference program we’ve assembled. Areas of focus include using data to improve members’ Club Experience, taking a fresh look at teen recruitment, and a panel discussion about best practices for Club safety. We’ll also hear from a number of excellent speakers, including leadership expert Jim Collins, author of the bestselling book, “Good to Great.”
A special thank you to the many local board members with us this week. Your hard work and governance are vital to Boys & Girls Clubs’ enduring success. We hope you’re able to attend the sessions designed to reinforce the important work you do.
Finally: have fun! It’s Chicago, after all. Some suggestions: visit the Miracle Mile, try our deep-dish pizza, catch a Cubs game, and walk along the lakefront. You can’t go wrong.
Thank you for all you do for young people. Have an excellent conference!
